The smallest stitch is known as the embroidery stitch. There are other types of embroidery which use knots and they are sometimes known as Candle wicking, these knots are formed by creating a figure 8 going around the needle. To make different types of embroidery patterns you have many stitches, these can either be the same or different ones, and one of the best ways is to count a chart on paper, follow a design that has been painted on fabric or try to do this using freehand. When you think of embroidery many people don’t realize that it has been around for hundreds of years. Mainly embroidery has been used to add decoration style and to bedazzle garments and fabrics with all types of different objects or materials and are stitched with thread. To add ornamentation you need to use the proper skills of needlework. There are many different types of thread that can be used; some are as follows, rayon, cotton and some yarns. You can also use silks. The simplest type of stitches are looped stitches, using the stitch the needle comes up through the fabric then it returns by going back down through the fabric using the same hole. Embroidery Machines come in different flavors and styles, some you need to attach a hoop, these hoops can vary in size. Today to hold the fabric down the machines you something called a darning foot, this darning foot does not go down on the fabric, plus to hold the fabric in place it does not need to be fed under it. Since the invention of computer technology and the ability to make chips smaller and faster these have been added to embroidery machines to help with design and efficiency, the quality from these machines are second to none. The computer and machines are very easy to understand and work, the software is the key factor to making it easier for people to use these systems and to create embroidered work. These machines are specifically created and manufactured to do one thing only and that is to product elaborate or fancy designs, the way this is done it follows a computer design that is programmed in.
